Method & Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow each step carefully for the authentic aroma and taste
- 1
Wash HealEx Foxtail Millet thoroughly and soak in water for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Drain well before cooking.
- 2
Heat oil/ghee in a heavy pressure cooker or pan. Add bay leaf, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and star anise; sauté until fragrant.
- 3
Add sliced onions and fry on medium heat until golden brown. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute.
- 4
Add chopped mint, coriander, tomatoes, turmeric, chilli powder, and biryani masala. Cook until tomatoes soften and oil separates.
- 5
Add mixed vegetables and sauté for 2 minutes to coat with the masala.
- 6
Add drained foxtail millet and gently roast for 1 minute without breaking the grains.
- 7
Pour exactly 500ml boiling water (2:1 water-to-millet ratio for separate, fluffy grains). Add salt, cover with lid, and cook on low-medium flame for 2 whistles.
- 8
Let steam vent naturally. Gently fluff with a fork and serve with onion raita, boiled eggs, or paneer curry.
